CII in its endeavor to recognize, encourage and support the efforts of Indian industry in conservation of natural resources and pollution prevention is organizing the CII Environmental Best Practices Award 8 – 9 October 2026 at Hotel Feathers, Mount Poonamallee Road, Manappakkam, Chennai. Awards will be granted to units, who make significant and measurable contribution towards development or use of cleaner technologies, processes or practices for environmental protection.
- Recognize and award best practices implemented by Indian Industry
- Facilitate information sharing amongst industry
- Instil a sense of competition to motivate other industries to implement best practices
- Uniqueness of the project in Industry/Sector
- Replicability of the project in similar units
- Quantum of tangible benefits, savings achieved and also intangible benefits from the project implemented
- Type of challenges faced during implementation and how they have been resolved

Eligibility Criteria
- Any Indian Industry which has taken proactive initiatives and has achieved environmental
benefits in any of the following areas:
- Resource & Material Conservation
- Waste Management & Recycling
- Adoption of latest Pollution Control Measures
- Climate Change & Mitigation efforts
- Greening the Supply Chain
- Product Responsibility Management
- Life Cycle Assessment
- Biodiversity Management
- Projects should comply with basic environmental norms by Pollution Control Board, local regulatory authority etc.
- Company/Industrial unit should comply with all the statutory and regulatory environmental norms
- Successful projects implemented during the last 2 years.
- Companies can apply a maximum number of '3' projects covering any of the above areas
- Projects submitted should be from different areas of environment sustainability as mentioned above
- Individual projects selected by jury will be informed to companies for presentation during award conference.
- Projects applied should have been implemented and running at least for 6 months.
(*Energy Efficiency and Water Conservation related Projects will not be considered since "CII Energy Efficiency Awards" and "CII National Award for Excellent in Water Management" specifically addresses this area)
The primary objective of this award programme is to promote the exchange of information and best practices among industries. To achieve this, all shortlisted project presentations from the award programme will be compiled by CII – Godrej GBC into a “Book of Presentations.” These projects will also be uploaded on our website and shared with industry members and other stakeholders as a valuable reference and learning resource.
